North Myrtle Beach Sports and Parks Complex

There is a huge buzz surrounding the opening of the brand spanking new North Myrtle Beach Sports and Parks complex, which took place earlier in the week. The facility kicked things off with the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic softball tournament, featuring 17 teams from several states. The six total baseball/softball fields accommodate several games at once, and there are also eight batting cages available. Multiple area soccer teams also made great use of the eight soccer/lacrosse fields at the facility. There are plenty of upcoming tournaments that the complex will be hosting, with the most notable being the International Quidditch World Cup! Over 80 teams from across the US, Canada and Mexico will be in town on April 5-6 to determine who is the best in the world at this Harry Potter-inspired sport.
The complex offers much more than just sports fields. Several covered picnic shelters and three large playground areas are perfect for family fun. There are also two large bark parks (one for large dogs and one for small dogs) for those coming by with pets, walking trails, a 10-acre meadow, an amphitheater with seating for up to 2,000 guests and even a stocked lake that allows freshwater fishing from the shore. And with weather getting warmer by the day, the complex looks to provide fun times to more and more visitors as the season moves along.
